The Absa RUN YOUR CITY (RYC) Series is inviting runners to take part in one of its “tougher” Strava Challenges – the RUN.CLIMB.RUN Challenge – this coming Sunday 03 April 2022.
“The RUN.CLIMB.RUN Challenge is definitely one of our tougher Strava challenges,” says Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports and Founder of the Absa RUN YOUR CITY Series. “It’s good to get out of one’s comfort zone. The good news is that this challenge does not require speed, slow and steady can also win the race. Runners will need to complete the challenge any time between 05:00 – 23:00 on Sunday. They can also run any distance. We are looking for the runner that clocks the most amount of climbing, irrespective of the distance run. Run hill repeats in your neighbourhood or go for a scenic mountain adventure. The ten runners to clock the most climbing on the day will go into a lucky draw and stand a chance to win a pair of PUMA NITRO running shoes. These runners stand a 1 in 10 chance to win. I like the odds. May the best climber win.”

How to join Challenge #3 / RUN.CLIMB.RUN Challenge:
- Runners are to “join” the RYC Series Running Club on Strava: https://www.strava.com/clubs/rycs
- If runners have not done so yet, they will need to create a Strava Account before they can join the club.
- Runners are to join CLIMB.RUN event on the RYC Series Running Club by clicking on the orange “I’m in” button displayed next to the Event listing.
- Runners must record their run using a smartphone (Android or iPhone device) or smart watch (Garmin, TomTom, Suunto, Fitbit, Polar etc.)
- Runners must share their elevation gain, activities, pictures and routes to the RYC Series Strava Club page
- All activities logged during the event period must be uploaded to Strava no later than 23:00 on Sunday 03 April 2022.
WIN WIN WIN: The 10 runners and walkers to clock the most climbing will go into a luck draw to win an AWESOME pair of PUMA NITRO Running Shoes. The winner will be selected by random draw and announced on the RYC Series Running Club page on Monday 04 April 2022.
