The Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K will once again be the most exciting route to run with activity and entertainment along the way – dancers, cheerleaders, marimba bands, drummers and so much more!

Substitutions are permissible until 15 April 2022 via the Entry Ninja platform.

Please park your vehicle and make your way to Grand Parade, there you will get onto the MyCiTi buses which will transport you to the start at Woodbridge Island, Milnerton.

 

The first bus leaves The Grand Parade at 06h30 and the last bus leaves at 08h30. Please ensure you arrive early.

There is ample parking in the city surrounding the Grand Parade and Finish area.

Please park your vehicle and make your way to Grand Parade, there you will get onto the MyCiTi buses which will transport you to the start at Woodbridge Island, Milnerton.

 

Athletes participating in wheelchairs will be required to start at the back of the field.

Runners are seeded according to the time indicated during the entry process.

The batch holding areas are large enough to cater for social distancing – please ensure good spacing at all times.

 

Runners are to wear their masks whilst in the in the start batches. You may only remove your mask once your race has started.

  • Start is on Marine Drive (R27) at Woodbridge Island
  • Straight on Marine Drive (R27) on the outbound lane passing Paarden Eiland.
  • Onto the N1 on the outbound lane towards the city keeping right onto FW De Klerk Boulevard.
  • Turn left into Heerengracht Road and continue straight up into Adderley Street.
  • Turn right into Wale Street and then right into Long Street
  • Final stretch down Long Street, crossing Hans Strijdom Street to the finish line on Lower Long Street.

 

  • The 20m before and after the Finish line are a ‘No Go zone’ and Covid compliant area. Please ensure you are spaced out as you cross the finish line and keep your arms away from your race number so that you can be photographed and recorded clearly.
  • No one must accompany you into the finish or over the line. “Selfies” and stopping will not be allowed in the No Go Zone – please keep moving to exit the No Go Zone where you should reapply your mask. Everyone must be masked when outside of this zone.
  • Keep moving as you are directed into a lane where you will receive your finishers medal and cold refreshments.
  • The tog bag trucks will be stationed in Lower Long Street where you can collect your tog bag before exiting the Event Zone.
  • Congratulations, you did it, your race is over. When you are out of the finish area, you return to normal Covid restrictions and must comply with Covid regulations. Please do not gather in large numbers.
  • Long Street restaurants and coffee shop retail stores will be open and willing to assist anyone wishing to find somewhere for post-event eats, drinks and celebrations.

A 6-week campaign calling on current and potential ‘die-hard’ RYC Series fans to show us their ‘gees’ and prove their ‘loyalty’ to RYC Series whilst giving them an opportunity to be rewarded and celebrated for their dedication and enthusiasm.

HOW TO ENTER:          

Absa RYC Series Community members are invited to complete the Absa RYC Series Ambassador Application via the Absa RYC Series website or social media pages (Google Form)

ENTRANT PARTICIPATION & REQUIREMENTS:

Applicants are required to do the following to be applicable for selection as the 2022/23 Absa RYC Series Ambassadors and ultimate winners.

  1. Like, share and tag the announcement post:
  • Create extended reach of the competition by sharing the post and tagging your running buddies
  • this includes following and joining all Absa RYC Series properties
  1. By sharing a post of yourself prepping your Absa RYC Series gear on your next run,

    you will receive a bonus entry to increase your chances of winning

All entrants will be considered based on the criteria that is set out above, and a shortlist will be selected and announced.   

Shortlisted candidates will be required to:

  1. Show us your gees by completing a RYC Challenge on Strava:
  • Show off your skills by making a TikTok ‘like’ of yourself completing the challenge
  1. Showcase your loyalty by taking your running buddies for a run:
  • Upload images of you and your running buddies doing what we do best, if your buddies are busy then remember to tag them in your upload
  1. Tell us your RYC Story and what running means to you:
  • Share a video of yourself telling the RYC Series community about your running story (inspirational, motivational, humorous etc.)

PRIZES: (2 x RYC Series Ambassadors (1 x male / 1 x female) will be identified and rewarded)

  • PUMA Kit to the value of R 15 000.00 (per winner)
  • Absa RUN YOUR CITY CAPE TOWN 10K entries for you and 3 friends (per winner)
